One Step Beyond

Who are we?

We are an established group of dancers from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. We receive consistent high acclaim for our lively and professionally delivered performances throughout the UK. Our repertoire includes our own fast paced and highly visual dances in the Appalachian style, percussive acappella routines and contra rhythms. We dance to live music, played by our own musicians Two Steps Back.

Where can we perform and what can we offer?

We are able to perform at a variety of venues, including concerts and ceilidhs. We can also give street performances. We dance at festivals and other public events, and also accept private bookings. The number of performances we give and the length of each performance are flexible but we need to agree these details in advance. We usually make our own announcements throughout the performance, unless you prefer otherwise, to build rapport with the audience. We are also able to run workshops in Appalachian stepping at any level, including 'flatfooting'.

What do we require to perform?

For all performances we require a dance space of approximately 16ft X 16 ft (~5-6m²) with a wooden floor or a suitable alternative for percussive dance. We also need a PA system. We prefer to make use of the venue's own PA system and sound desk if available. We need time for setting-up and completing a sound check. The sound check is vital for this type of performance and ensures that the audience enjoys our show at its best J

We can provide our own dance floor and PA system if necessary. On these occasions it is essential that we have access to the venue for our trailer and towing vehicle.
